Jowan can be found later imprisoned in the Redcliffe Castle - Basement during the Arl of Redcliffe quest. Yet once he reveals he really is a blood mage, Lily will reject him forcing him to escape alone. When Greagoir sentences Jowan to death and Lily to Aeonar, Jowan will use Blood Magic in order to protect her. Whether or not the Warden chooses to reveal Jowan's plan to First Enchanter Irving, Greagoir and Irving will be found waiting for Jowan once the task is completed. In the Magi Origin quest Bound in Blood and Magic, he asks The Warden to help him find and destroy his phylactery so that he may flee with Lily without having to fear capture by the Templars. To further compound his problems, he is suspected of dabbling in Blood Magic, a crime that is punishable by death. Jowan has been having a forbidden affair with an initiate, Lily. Make your way to the third floor.Involvement Dragon Age: Origins Magi Origin The cabinet, chest, and scrap paper are also worth noting in the corner the scrap paper yields Codex 243: Circles Within Circles. The last room is Irving’s office, check the bookcase for Codex 074: The Fraternity of Enchanters, Irving’s Chest which contains a story gift Black Grimoire (give it to Morrigan to start “ Flemeth’s Grimoire “, the enchanter’s desk, and the enchanter’s scroll which yields Codex 246: Irving’s Mistake.
Loot it once defeated to obtain Codex 241: The Black Vials. Prepare yourself for a tough battle and observe the Toppled Statue to summon a Revenant. In the adjacent room loot the soldier’s corpse and charred corpse which carry a Chantry Amulet and Ice Band. There is an armoire and scrolls that can be looted.
